Artist Statement

I am passionate about liberating performers through embodied experiences and physical expression.

With over 22 years of experience I have developed a unique approach that combines rigorous physical training with deep emotional exploration, prioritising the self-determination of the artist.

I believe in the power of movement to unlock creativity, build courage and reveal authentic human experiences on stage. My practice is grounded in extensive somatic training across disciplines, including contemporary dance, Improvisation, Body-Mind Centring (BMC), devised movement pedagogies, Iyengar Yoga and Mary Overlie’s Six Viewpoints.

I draw inspiration from my international experiences and collaborations, always seeking to expand the boundaries of physical performance in both dance and theatre contexts.

At the core of my work is a commitment to nurturing performers and helping them discover their full expressive potential through movement. Whether it is working on professional productions, theatre making or teaching at institutions like WAAPA, I strive to create environments where artists feel empowered to take risks and understand their full capacity.

As an expert in both text-based and devised theatre practices, I guide performers to explore the intricate relationship between movement and language. My own works often investigate ideas of memory, disaster and resilience, using movement to articulate complex emotional landscapes and the human condition. Creating innovative performances that challenge and inspire.

I seek to create transformative experiences — for performers and audiences alike — that reveal the profound intimacy of connection and the moving body.

Through my practice, I hope to contribute to the ongoing evolution of Australian story telling in theatre and film and movement-based performance in Australia and beyond.
